Energy Retrofit Willem Lodewijkstraat, Leeuwarden
The Leeuwarden Energy Upgrade
On Willem Lodewijkstraat in Leeuwarden, we delivered a comprehensive energy retrofit on a 1960s family home. The owner sought to advance the energy label and improve warmth without drastically altering the exterior character.
Insulation Envelope and Heat Pump Readiness
The external cavity walls were insulated and the roof upgraded with high-grade PIR boards. Glazing was replaced with modern HR++ panes. A hybrid heat pump was installed alongside the central heating boiler, and the crawl space insulated to prevent ground chill.
Improved Efficiency and Comfort
The property improved its energy rating from D to A, reducing gas consumption by over 50% while delivering consistent, draft-free indoor comfort year-round.
